Exception Student Education

At Pivot Charter School, we are committed to providing a high-quality education that meets the needs of all of our students, including those with disabilities. Our Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program offers support and services to students who are eligible for special education. Our ESE Coordinator works closely with the families of students with disabilities to address any issues or concerns they may have.

 

We believe that collaboration between school staff, families, and students is essential to ensuring that our students receive the support and resources they need to succeed. Our goal is to help families navigate the educational process, empower them to become effective advocates for their child, and provide information and support that promotes academic and social success both in school and in the community. What can I do to help my Child be Successful?

  • Monitor your student's progress by checking in with them regularly and checking their grades on Google Classroom or weekly.

  • Communicate regularly with teachers and the ESE Coordinator to bring up any concerns and address them quickly.

  • Encourage and promote self-advocacy and organization skills at home to help your child be more independent and successful in school.

  • Consider taking advantage of our Free Peer Tutoring program to help your child excel with subjects they find most challenging.

  • Work with your child's school to create an individualized education plan (IEP) that meets their specific needs and goals.

  • Keep an open line of communication with your child's school and advocate for their needs as necessary.

  • Encourage your child to take an active role in their own education by setting goals, seeking help when needed, and participating in their own learning.
